“You guys were amazing!! Without much direction you were able to read the crowd and created such a fun vibe. We loved how you just didn’t come in straight away playing the loud bangers but more so warmed everyone up and created a great atmosphere. We also loved that you were able to accommodate for the younger ones and the oldies. Everyone commented how talented you guys were. Thanks for contributing to the best night of our lives and memories we’ll treasure forever” Annie (Wedding at Stoneridge Queenstown)
“Hi Mo. Just wanted to reach out and say a huge thank you once more for playing at my party on Saturday. It was such a blast, I’m still croaky from all the singing along!! Everyone who came commented on the amazing band”
Rachelle (40th Birthday Party in Tarras)
“Thanks again for such an amazing night! You guys lit the place up”
Cameron (Wedding at Millbrook Queenstown)
“Oh my! Where do I start! The Black Pugs were amazing and I’m looking forward to having them play at another event we hold. We were only a small group but everyone commented on the band!” Vicki Miles (40th Birthday, Little Aosta Arrowtown)
“I just wanted to let you know that Mo and Co from Black Pug were amazing, everyone was up dancing and singing along and had the best time. Thank you so much” Jamie MacDougall (Corporate Event, Mercure Queenstown)
For most events we run as a 2 piece band with vocals/guitar, bass and backing tracks for drums (diligently recorded and produced by Mo in his home studio). This set up works really well for small to mid size venues as it’s cost effective and takes less space but still sounds like a full band. For larger events we have the option to bring in a real drummer which adds to the visual experience. There’s also an option to add an acoustic set perfect for canapés or a dinner party.
Here’s a video with snippets of a few different songs we play.
